ICECOOL Receives Kinderspiel des Jahres 2017
June 19th was a day of great pride and joy for ICECOOL creators, distributors and fans. On this day, ICECOOL won the ‘Oscar’ of the board game industry— the Kinderspiel des Jahres 2017 award for the best children’s game of the year! The winner was announced during the award ceremony in Hamburg.
ICECOOL was launched at UK Games Expo in June 2016, where the game received its first prize, followed by many other awards and nominations. However, Kinderspiel des Jahres marks the peak of success for this innovative game. As part of the Spiel des Jahres award, created in 1978, this is considered the most prestigious award in the board game industry.
The ICECOOL game was created and released in Latvia by Brain Games and is distributed in Germany by our partners Amigo Spiele. The author of the game Brian Gomez is actually an alias for four creators, board game enthusiasts Egils Grasmanis, Jānis Grunte, Edgars Zaķis and Reinis Butāns. They are honored to receive the Kinderspiel des Jahres award as it is the highest acknowledgment of ICECOOL’s quality, design, and value.
